Evening With Industry – Monday, September 26th, 2016

EWI is an annual event hosted by the Michigan Tech Society of Women Engineers the day before the Fall Career Fair. EWI provides a relaxed environment where students and corporate representatives can interact before the career fair.

The event is open to all Michigan Tech University students, who will have the opportunity to network with company representatives while learning about numerous and diverse companies and the internship, co-op and full-time employment opportunities they offer. These employers target Michigan Tech in their recruiting efforts and are eager to meet and interact with top talented students.

Company representatives have the opportunity to meet successful students whose knowledge, skills and experiences meet their technical and business needs. In addition, they are able to promote their company and employment opportunities, and share their experiences in the world of work. Each company in attendance receives access to all attending students’ resumes.

In 2014 and 2015, over 350 people were in attendance, and the committee is working to make the EWI 2016 event bigger and better.

Company Registration

There are three different opportunities to be a corporate sponsor of this event:

  • Keynote Sponsorship
    • includes the keynote speech during the event, the company logo and recognition as the Keynote Sponsor on all campus-wide promotional materials before the event and headliner promotion during the event, an opportunity to have lunch with SWE members the day of the event, up to 10 additional company representative tickets, sponsorship of 20 student tickets, and a hotel room for the keynote speaker for Sunday night through Monday night following the event.
  • Event sponsorship
    • includes the company logo and recognition as an event sponsor during the event, 5 company representative tickets, and sponsorship of 10 student tickets.
  • 1 – 4 company ticket(s) may also be purchased for $200, each including 1 representative ticket and the sponsorship of 2 student tickets.

Please note that all student ticket sponsorships are random.

To purchase a sponsorship package or individual tickets, please visit our registration page.

Student Tickets

Student tickets are $25, with the possibility of tickets being sponsored (free). We make every effort to secure sponsorship for your ticket (and historically almost all tickets are sponsored), however, you must initially pay for your ticket and attend the event to receive your refund if/when sponsorship is available.

For seating during dinner, we make every effort to match students with their target companies and companies with their target majors (as listed on the Fall 2016 Career Fair registration). The social hour provides an opportunity for both students and company representatives to interact with others who are not seated at their table.

To purchase tickets, please visit the event registration page here.

We encourage students to wear formal business attire for this event. If you aren’t sure what’s considered business attire, check out the links below.
